Fleet Outreach
Purpose of the Fleet Outreach Program
The USSVCF Fleet Outreach Program is our primary link with today’s Submarine Fleet. Our program includes submarine visits to help commemorate significant milestones such as christenings and commissioning ceremonies. Ships visited are given mementos such as plaques and other items to demonstrate the strong bond between US Submarine Veterans, those of us who have gone before, and the men and women manning the submarines of today … and tomorrow.
We also assist Commissioning Committees by providing our tax-exempt status to aid them in fundraising for their celebrations. We do this by providing a repository for their donations.
Finally, we support the COMSUBLANT and COMSUBPAC Sailor of the Year programs and provide recognition for distinguished graduates of submarine-related Service School commands.
