Helping Children in Need

"No one stands so tall as when they stoop to help a child" — Abraham Lincoln
The KAP(SS) 4 KID(SS) Fund is a charitable program where submarine veterans visit children facing serious medical conditions and illnesses.

Visiting Sick Children

Volunteers from United States Submarine Veterans Charitable Foundation, Inc. Bases visit children in cancer hospitals, children’s hospitals, psychiatric units, Ronald McDonald Houses, medical camps, hospices, and other locations. During visits, veterans offer caring attention and present gifts such as Honorary Submariner Certificates, embroidered caps, challenge coins, temporary tattoos, and more — all approved by healthcare facilities.

A Program with Impact

Since 2007, submarine veterans have brought comfort and joy to over 25,000 sick children and their families through this program.

Meaning Behind the Name

The “SS” in Kap(SS) 4 Kid(SS) stands for the military specialty designator meaning “Qualified in Submarines.”
