As the new Memorials and Museum Boats Fund Manager, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to my predecessor, Don for handing over a truly well‑oiled process. I am equally grateful to the dedicated team of Foundation members whose continued support advances the mission of our submarine museums.
It is a privilege to assist physical submarine museums in preserving the legacy of the Submarine Force. These efforts span a wide range of initiatives—from the placement of a single torpedo monument to the preservation of entire submarines—each of which plays a vital role in perpetuating our Naval Submarine Heritage.
The active list of projects supported by USSVCF reflects a strong and enduring commitment across the country. Together, these initiatives demonstrate that our shared dedication to preserving history remains both alive and robust nationwide.
The USSVCF team works seamlessly to provide a comprehensive, end‑to‑end support process. This “A‑to‑Z” approach helps shepherd local fundraising efforts, beginning with initial matching seed money and extending through the creation of perpetual charitable accounts. These structures allow projects to take full advantage of nonprofit benefits and legacy gift‑giving opportunities.
On a personal note, I have witnessed firsthand the gratitude expressed by grassroots organizations for the Foundation’s support—most recently during a project kickoff presentation. These moments underscore the importance of our work.
We live in a remarkable country filled with patriots who, when presented with a well‑conceived and thoughtfully developed initiative, come together with the resources and commitment necessary to preserve these monuments for future generations. It is with that shared purpose and resolve that serving as part of the solution makes USSVCF an honorable and enduring organization.
